Walsh County is located in northeast North Dakota. It is named for George H Walsh, a prominent citizen and politician from Grand Forks.
The seat and largest city are Grafton. The Park and Forest Rivers run through the county.
Walsh County borders Pembina, Grand Forks, Nelson, Ramsey and Cavalier Counties in North Dakota; as well as Kittson and Marshall Counties in Minnesota.
Main highways through the county include I-29, US-81, ND-17, ND-18, ND-32 and ND-35.
